Magnetic Properties of Local Soil Profiles

The Lehigh River watershed covers an extensive area including 10 counties and 1364 square miles. The Saucon Creek is just one of the many tributaries that feed the Lehigh River. Over the last few years LEO has started to study all aspects of the tributaries of the Lehigh River to better understand the river itself and the watershed as a whole. One of the areas studied is the magnetic profiles of the soil that line the banks of the Saucon Creek and the surrounding area. This study is an on going project that over the course of a few years time a database of magnetic signatures of all the soil types will be amassed and be ready to be used for other projects.
