Saucon Creek Watershed Monitoring

The Saucon Creek Watershed, a major Tributary to the Lehigh River, is undergoing a major change in land-use practices. Unfortunately, there is no long-term record of this watershed's hydrology.

We need student interns for the installation of an ISCO continuous water sampler on Saucon Creek to augment our existing database on discharge, suspended sediment, and total dissolved solids. Bi-weekly collection of water samples and occasional channel surveying to augment the existing rating curve. The water sampling procedures are in place, but a physical, assembly-line line location for the rapid processing of water samples needs to be developed. Construction of a GIS for the Saucon Creek watershed focussing on updataing the current, coarse-resolution land use model.

The intern must have access to a reliable car. But travel is very short - only ~ 5 mile round trip.
