Gravity and Magnetics Database

Gravity and ground magnetics measurements can be used to assess the depth and subsurface structure of bedrock-important constraints for groundwater modeling studies. Interns will collect gravity and magnetics measurements in the Lehigh River watershed at locations of known elevation to construct large scale gravity and magnetics maps. The large scale survey will be supplemented by detailed gravity and magnetics surveys in areas of geologic interest. Gravity and magnetics computer models of bedrock in the Lehigh River watershed are the ultimate goal of this long term project.

A team of two students is required for the project, at least one of the students must have a car. Students should have had EES 21 or equivalent. Although not required, concurrent enrollment in EES 203 is suggested.
